A Public Service Announcement from JubytheDog
Dogs and Fireworks Don’t Mix
Thursday night, my owner and chris took me and gromit to Cunningham Park in Queens for a free concert held by the NY Philharmonic. At the end of the concert, there were fireworks (which, i found, are fun for humans but not so fun for small animals). Good thing that my owner was prepared and picked me up, covering my ears, before the fireworks started.
Unfortunately, not everyone with dogs knew about the fireworks. Two dogs (a small white dog and a big dog, possibly a German Shepherd) started running out of the park when they heard the fireworks and ran straight through traffic. They ran so fast that there was no way my owner and Chris could catch them. I dunno what happened to them…I’m afraid they’re lost, or worse, injured.
I’m still worried about them. I hope they’re safe.
So, please…remember, keep us dogs away from scary, loud noises…or be prepared to muffle our ears and calm us down.
Thank you very much.

My mommy took me to see the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks in 2003 and i was totally freaked out. I just wanted to hide from the scary noises but my mommy kept me inside my carrying bag the whole time. I never want to go to see a fireworks show ever again.
